Cheers to Eden & Co.

I want to introduce myself and share how I got into Interior Design and landed where I am today. I love Interior Design and to say I am passionate about it, would be an understatement. I believe you know you are passionate about design when you get home from a 12+ hour day designing for clients, curl up and browse design magazines, or sift through Pinterest for kitchen inspiration, just for fun.

On the weekends, I enjoy critiquing restaurant interiors, figuring out how I could better my business sense, or attending the parade of homes. I live and breath design. My roots start from a young age, follow a traditional schooling path, and end with many career highlights. I am excited to share with you where it all began.

Where it all Started:

Growing up, my family moved a lot. I have lived in 10 states. This has shaped my view of design. I have always been attracted to interiors and every time we moved, I would draw out a floor plan of how I wanted to lay out the furniture and design my new room. When I was in the third grade, during recess I would draw exteriors. In middle school, I would collect images in a word document of design styles I loved. (Pinterest was not around back then.) It wasn’t until I was a senior in high school that I understood Interior Design could be a career (social media was also not around back then either). I thought, “you mean to tell me, you can get paid to go shopping, select finishes, and draw floor plans!?” Now I laugh at that thought because there is so much more involved in what I do. As a senior in high school, I was accepted into an accredited Interior Design program and packed my bags to move across the country.

Career + Interior Design School:

While in school, I worked hard and became the president of our NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and even won a design competition, landing me a scholarship. Junior year, I scored an internship at a luxury high-end design firm, Foley and Cox, located in New York City. That level of high-end design was a fascinating world I was thrilled to be exposed to. Upon graduating with my Bachelors of Interior Design degree, I began working at a few different architecture firms in Utah, including Scholz Architects, Think Architecture, and Elle Interiors. I specialized in residential and commercial design. I climbed my way up to Director of Interior Design and led a fantastic team. After 6 years of professional practice, I decided it was time to close that chapter and begin something new.
