Young Living Bed & Breakfast: Reveal

The Bed & Breakfast is just one part of Young Living’s iconic farm featuring fragrant lavender fields, an enchanted wedding venue, world-class show horses, a jousting arena, a café, and a distillery.

We wanted the design of this Bed & Breakfast to embody the natural beauty of the working farm. Our goal was to showcase the roughness of the rugged landscape contrasted with the peace and beauty of the lavender fields, all while honoring the modern farmhouse aesthetic of this working farm. Guests staying at the Bed and Breakfast can enjoy the lavender fields, tour the distillery, eat at the café, shop the retail store, or use the event space.

The most significant hurdle we faced with this project was executing all our goals with a limited amount of space. We had to incorporate a wide range of planning and technique into this building. Using clever design we made many of the spaces multi-functional.

We had an incredibly quick turnaround for the building. Beginning with the tear down of the previous building, to design, construction, and installation the time period was less than 12 months. We had to work incredibly fast and efficiently with minimal room for error. Not only did we have to work quickly, this was our first year of business and the lead designer was expecting a baby any day! To say it was a labor of love would be an understatement. The design team, contractor, and owner worked together seamlessly to get the job completed on schedule.

Our partners and manufacturer were crucial to the success of this project. As we had such a short turnaround time and with the pandemic delays, everyone had to do their part to meet the deadline. We made decisions quickly. When an item would go out of stock or a finish was unavailable, we would pivot and select something new. Our reps sent us various options and worked with the contractor to get it ordered swiftly. The owner did an excellent job keeping everyone on track, meeting weekly with each team to ensure we finished on time. The last 3 days before we opened were like a TV reveal show! We had all hands on deck supporting the design team, cleaning, and accessorizing to make every last detail event-ready.
