2023 INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS

As 2023 begins, we’re excited to witness the new styles unfold. At Eden & Co. we believe we’ll see more transitional looks that draw upon traditional design while utilizing contemporary elements. The design world has been moving away from cool gray walls and stark white kitchens. We expect 2023 to dive deeper into warm colors, bold patterns, and memorable details.

BOLD COLOR

The color forecast for this year took a sharp turn from last year’s soft greens and periwinkle to vibrant reds. Pantone chose “Viva Magenta” as their 2023 color of the year, while Benjamin Moore’s color is “Raspberry Blush”. Sherwin-Williams leans more neutral with “Redend Point”, but is still very much a part of the red family. The neutrality may make it more palatable for the average homeowner.

While this coral pink wall is softer than Benjamin Moore’s Raspberry Blush, it is sure to be an iteration of the color seen this year.

STATEMENT TILE

After the explosive popularity of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) in recent years, many are gradually making the shift back to tile. Tile is durable and lends itself to more unique design expressions than LVP. In 2023, statement tile will be seen in textured backsplashes, bold colors, and traditional patterns, such as black and white checkerboard.

Black and white checked floors revert back to traditional design styles, as seen here in the Palace of Versailles.

STATEMENT STONE

Full slab statements will be seen in showers, kitchen backsplashes, and commercial accent walls. These won’t necessarily present with a bold-veined marble look. A variety of stones and unexpected colors will steal the show.

A beautiful granite wall with orange veins brings warmth and character into this luxury bath.

ROUNDED EDGES

Arched doorways have been popular in high-end residential design the past couple of years, and these soft edges will be surfacing more and more in furniture. Sofas and arm chairs with rounded edges were popular in the recent interior design markets.

This armchair and floor lamp both incorporate this rounded-edge trend.

While each designer will have their own style and application of these trends, we predict you will see these elements in the upcoming year. Keep an eye out and let us know which trends you’re excited to see!

XOXO,

Holly Mickelsen
